The module adopts pcf8574, which enables most MCU to realize remote I / O port expansion through two bidirectional buses (I2C). The device includes an 8-bit quasi bidirectional port and an I2C bus interface. Pcf8574 has low current consumption and parallel port output latch. It has high current driving ability and can directly drive LED. It also has an interrupt connection (int open drain output) which can be connected with the interrupt logic of MCU. By sending interrupt signal through int, the remote I / O port can notify MCU whether there is data input from the port without I2C bus communication.
Tip
Due to different manufacturers’ batches, the pcf8574 version on the board may also be different. At present, there are pcf8574t and pcf8574at versions with the same pin functions, but the I2C device address is different. When the module arrives, first check the chip model, and then modify the i2cid number in the program

Instructions
With backlight power control, you can set whether to connect the backlight power through the jumper cap. Plug in the jumper cap to connect the backlight power supply, and unplug the jumper cap to disconnect the backlight power supply. The contrast is adjustable. Rotate the blue light potentiometer to increase clockwise and decrease counterclockwise. Modules can be cascaded up to 8. Modify the equipment address through A0 / A1 / A2 pads on the short circuit module.
Default Address
A2-a0 are all suspended during shipment. The I2C address at this time is the default address in the following table. If you want to modify the address yourself, note that the address pad suspension is 1 and the short circuit is 0
